WESTLAKE, Ohio – Critical Ops was selected as the Principal Investigator to identify military resources and strategies to improve civilian airport resiliency under the Airport Cooperative Research Program. The objective of this synthesis (reference 11-03/Topic S10-20) is to “document resiliency practices and processes from the National Guard and other-military services that airports can adapt and use for their own facilities and in partnerships with co-located military facilities.”1

As a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, this project tugs at our company fabric and is a fascinating opportunity to uncover how joint-use airports worldwide work as a team. “To build more resilient communities, it’s important to transition our thinking from ‘working with partners’ to ‘working as partners’,” Chad Treboniak, Strategic Planner at Critical Ops said. “By replacing ‘with’ with ‘as,’ you can truly move the needle on resiliency while creating efficiencies and opportunities for growth,” he added.

We are actively gathering perspectives from all types of vested partners from the Airport Community. While early in the project, a handful of common themes are emerging. These themes and other gaps, challenges, and further research needs will be documented in a future publication later this year. If you or a representative from your joint-use airport are willing to participate in this study, please get in touch with us at info@criticalops.com.
